This is the first time I have ever made the strawberry rhubarb pie from Rose Levy Beranbaum. We got the rhubarb (!!) from 3 Porch Farm in Athens, Ga and used our own strawberries. Note that I did not glaze the berries yet when I took these pics.

those are the most gorgeous strawberries ever. and this is a great year for rhubarb. i bet the pie came out wonderfully. the pie crust looks deliciously flaky!
My heart stopped when I realized you had written this! I am a huge fan of your books–in fact, your two cake and pie books are the only ones I ever bake sweets from. The pie was fantastic. I had no idea how delicious rhubarb is. It reminded me almost of apples. Where I live, it is highly unlikely that I will ever get rhubarb again, but the farmers market just might have some more this saturday. If so, I am stocking up.
